Be still my heart

I love how these two love each other. Of course, there are arguments and frustrations between them. But they are buddies, best friends. I asked Bennett tonight if he had a girlfriend (hoping maybe I could get the scoop on his new group of peers at school), and without any hesitation, and a little annoyance that I even had to ask, he said "Clara". 

Summertime

Traveling, water, boating, camping, popsicles. It's been a great summer so far. 

Ocean Shores

We had the good fortune of being invited along on the Ward's beach vacation (or did we invite ourselves...the details are blurry). There was relaxing, wine drinking, rough housing, kite flying, sand castle building, movie watching, and overall lots of fun had by all. Thanks Karen and Andy - you guys are great friends (as evidenced by Andy cleaning up Clara's car sick incident, among other things)!

That one time....

that Clara got her hand slammed and pinned in the bathroom door while Bennett was trapped on the other side in the bathroom and I totally freaked out. 

Turns out baby bones bend nicely under pressure. If I had had a level head at the time (rather than screaming), I probably could have saved us a trip to the ED and skipped this xray of her swollen, intact hand. I guess we created a memory (hopefully not her first). 

Camping

We went to the cabin for our first camp out of the year. The kids loved it and Bennett was so sad to leave, we set up camp inside once home. I'm really looking forward to more camping trips this summer.
